I was born in the Philippines but moved to the US while still a toddler, never really knowing my birthplace. I visited once as a teenager but recently decided to return. This time with a curiosity and desire to reconnect with my roots.
What I found was a familiar energy permeating the place, its people, plants and the vibrant colors of everyday life. It was actually a warmth I’d felt before, present in my Filipino American upbringing. A feeling I tried to capture in these photos.
